I love coming here. Great and friendly service. There is lots to choose from and their sandwiches are delicious. I need to try a different sandwich but my go to is the avocado sandwich. Coffee is tasty. Both hot and cold brew. Plenty of room to sit. And they also have outdoor seating in the back. There is a parking spot in the back. It's pretty tight. I have taken a few loaf of bread home as well. To make sandwiches.
Was looking for a good quality bread, found this place. The service is good, the bakery, pastries were just okay, little bit on the dry side, and bread-got 1 olive bread, and other olive bread white. They were just average..
This has easily become one of my GO-TO spots!!! These pastries are such gooood quality (especially the Kouign Amann). Ambiance wise, it's not too busy at all. The bagels do go fast though, so come earlier for those! Yet even later in the day, there are still solid pastry and bread options. There's also parking!!!
Overdue review of this place. I came here last weekend after I was done doing some volunteer work downtown. I've had a pastry from this place at another coffee shop and it was suggested that I come down here to see what they offer. I decided on an onion bagel and a fruit danish along with some coffee. They have a parking lot in the back but if you come on the weekend you can likely find street parking. Everything was tasty and the bagel was warmed up well. They people working there were friendly. They also have an outside patio seating area that is shaded which is such a nice vibe when it's warm out. I definitely plan to come back to try some of their other treats!
I was doing a staycation in the rapidly gentrifying Arts District and came across this bakery that I knew nothing about until I did some research. With its windowless nondescript exterior, I actually thought it was a cocktail lounge/bar. It turns out it's a very popular and well regarded bakery that makes a wide variety of breads and morning pastries both savory and sweet, plus offers egg dishes for breakfast, salads, quiches, sandwiches both hot and cold, and coffee drinks. I came shortly after their 7 am opening and there were already people seated and waiting in line. Some were picking up rather large bread orders (they do a brisk pre-order business). I ordered a few breakfast carbs to go: fruit danish with apples, a cherry-raspberry muffin and a kouign amann. The café has a fair amount of indoor seating, plus a covered patio out back in their small parking lot. Some folks park in the alley alongside the cafe if the lot is full. All the baked good were quite good. I'm a lover of sweet things, and their offerings were perhaps not as sweet as I like. When I was leaving, I noticed a berry danish they had just put out; I would have chosen that had I known. The kouign amann perhaps could have had a bit more of the caramelized sugar "crust" that I prefer. Definitely worth a visit. I will surely try their breads and/or croissants when I return
The avocado, cucumbers, and fresh herbs make this an excellent avocado sandwich! The side salad was dressed in an herb dressing which was equally good. The breads here do not disappoint. The dining space is clean with an industrial style vibe. Service is prompt and courteous. Don't forget to take home your favorite loaf- mine is the country loaf!
BREAD LOUNGE is a great bakery in Los Angeles. The Baguette is legit and slightly tart (is that a hint of sourdough I taste?). Super crunchy on the outside and airy on the inside. The Spinach and Feta Croissant had layers! And the spinach was generous. It almost looks like they put a whole bag of frozen spinach in there! The staff was super friendly and patient. There were a lot of chairs and tables inside for you to enjoy your food and drinks here. They don't just have breads and other viennoiserie, they have breakfast plates too. Aaaaaand they us La Colombe coffee beans!!!
Bread Lounge is so much fun to visit! I was in DTLA and decided to swing by to pick up a loaf of bread. It was not crowded, and there was no wait. I was debating on which bread to order (I tried the kalamata olive bread before which was good) and the woman behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. I decided on the whole wheat, and she offered to slice it for me, which I agreed to. Then I decided to get a sandwich to go. I decided on the Tuna Sandwich "Plenty of Fish." Tuna mix (olives, lemon juice, dill) w/ harissa, sliced tomato and fresh arugula. It came with a salad or chips, and I opted for the chips. JJ and I split the sandwich. It was really delicious on the hearty whole wheat bread, and half was plenty for me. I didn't taste any olives though. JJ didn't care for it too much (although he loves tuna). Maybe it was the harissa or one of the seasonings. Also, the Community chips were good, and substantial serving size in the bag. Such a great lunch, which I thoroughly enjoyed! The whole wheat bread is also great--- very hearty and I've been enjoying it toasted with butter in the morning for breakfast. The bakery interior is also nice, with a cool vibe. There are tables where you can dine in. Service is friendly and efficient. Highly recommended!
